Have you ever felt sad or stressed out and felt better after going for a walk? If so, you have experienced the powerful connection between the mind and body, specifically the positive effect of exercise on mental health. Join Heather Brewer, licensed clinical social worker and ACSM certified exercise specialist, to review some of the most recent research on the interaction between exercise and mental health. Heather will also discuss possible physiological and psychosocial explanations for this connection, and we will learn ways to bring more exercise into our lives and to stay motivated.
